One of the best opening paragraphs I've read. It was hard at first to become engaged with the story line as the "stolen Bible" seemed a thin excuse to hire a private investigator. However, once past that, the mystery and history keep me reading and trying to figure out the answers to Tara's questions. Enjoyed the story.Product details

Private Investigator Bart Connors returns in Shea’s newest novel only he is now a little older, a little softer, and a little kinder. His love interest and client is Tara Butler who is searching for a stolen family bible which holds the secret to her Irish origins.
The story is compelling and fast-paced and will leave you wanting to not only know more but also waiting for the next Bart Connors adventure.
Bart moves with the twists and turns bringing a solution and a good ending. A good read
I like the way the author has brought Bart Conners up to the present day, although I also very much liked the Bart Connors novels set in the 1950s where he was a hard boiled detective in Lost & Found. When I read fiction I like to learn new things. In the Poisoned Book I learned a good deal about Irish history, as well as the biblical references the author used to support that history. I do miss all the Robert Parker novels about Spencer, so I'm glad there's a new private-eye on the literary scene.
